A Passion for Shaved Ice

Growing up in Chicago, I always loved the city’s food. One of my best memories is going with my family to get shaved ice on hot days. It was so yummy and colorful. That’s when I knew I wanted to work with food.

Years later, I got a degree in cooking and decided to open my own shaved ice shop in Chicago. I wanted to bring the joy I felt as a kid to others. I made the shaved ice healthier by using fresh fruit from local farms.

Running a business in a big city like Chicago is tough. I had to figure out licenses, how to advertise, and how to handle money. But I saw it as a chance to learn. Luckily, the community and loyal customers supported me and liked the care I put into my shaved ice.

The best part of my work is the community around my shop. People come to have fun and eat shaved ice together. I’ve even had events with art and music at my shop.

I feel so lucky about my journey from a kid who loved shaved ice to owning a good shaved ice shop. I’m excited to keep adding new flavors and toppings for my customers.
